CONTEST REGISTRATION
STEP 1 - Online

Buy any pass for the Munich Bachata Fest 2025.

Register here online for J&J - 15 € participation fee.

Ensure that your registration is completed no later than 16:30, on Saturday (11.01.2025).
STEP 2 - AT THE FESTIVAL

Collect your contest number at the reception between 12:00 - 17:00 on Saturday (11.01.2025.). This contest number is crucial for your participation in the contest.

Be ready at 19:30 at the "Ballsaal" for a Competitors Meeting & Warm-Up.

20:00 Get ready to showcase your talent and compete.

COMPETITION FORMAT
- During the preliminaries, participants will be randomly paired for 3 rounds of 1min each.
- Dancers will dance together and receive rankings.
- The top 15 leaders and followers will advance to the Semi-finals, and the top 5 from each category will reach the Finals.

Hold a Pass to Munich Bachata Fest 2025.
- Random Pairings:
Unlike traditional dance competitions where dancers often compete with a chosen partner, Jack & Jill competitions involve random pairings. Dancers are paired up with different partners through a random draw, which can occur before each round of dancing. - Spontaneity and Improvisation:
The format emphasizes the dancers’ ability to adapt and improvise with different partners and to different music. This tests their skills in leading and following, musicality, and overall dance versatility. - Multiple Rounds:
Competitions often have multiple rounds, starting with preliminaries and moving to semi-finals and finals. Dancers are judged individually in the early rounds, and only in the final rounds might they be judged as a couple. - Music Variety:
The music for Jack & Jill competitions is typically chosen by the organizers or DJs and covers a range of tempos and different Bachata styles adding to the challenge for the dancers to showcase their adaptability. - Judging Criteria:
All Judges are looking for qualities such as timing, technique, connection with the partner, musical interpretation, and overall presentation. The ability to connect well with a randomly assigned partner is particularly important. - Community and Fun:
While competitive, Jack & Jill competitions are also known for their fun, community-oriented atmosphere. They encourage social interaction and are often a highlight at dance events and festivals.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Judges will use a dedicated app to cast their votes during the contest.
Jury Deliberation: The panel of judges will closely observe the performances and cast their votes after the contest concludes.
